Hi Kate, what an encouraging post! Recently grappling with a child (likely neurodivergent) who has walked away from his Heavenly Father, I have been confounded by God’s amazing grace. There have been things I felt I should not have done and things I didn’t do but should have, but it is comforting to know that my son’s salvation in Christ is outside my control.

Your post - While we play a very important role in their lives, their relationship with God is not accessed through us but by their faith in the saving work of Jesus - is freeing and heartening to read.

Thank you.

Kylie

Thanks for calling us back to the true work of parenting! I feel that we are so blessed indeed with these differently-wired children who cause us to lean even more on our heavenly Father in raising them. I remember the heavy burden of deciding the timing of our oldest child's first surgery and at that time putting him in God's hands. Even so early on I knew I couldn't do it in my own power, and the opportunities for faith have only multiplied since then. :D
