'Our God-made neurodivergent children aren’t called to mimic the average person, but to mimic the best person: Jesus ...'

Oh this is such a beautiful encouragement, Kate. Thank you for your gentle, wise guidance.

Amen!

And so (should) say all of us!...yes, I see the irony here.

Don't forget the eighth sense - introception! It is very useful to know that it is a traditionally unresponsive sense in Autism.

You’re exactly right! How did I forget that? It’s commonly missed in text books but SUCH an important one to be aware of. Thank you!

This was such an encouragement as I raise my neurodivergent family. It's not about them fitting in, it's about them (as with all of us) becoming more like Jesus 🙌

Very helpful Kate. I am surprised there is no reference to foods in the chart. I guess that will come up

yes, that's a good one to add in. Texture, taste, temperature, order of food given, whether food is touching another food on the plate, how noisy it is to chew... Those are good ones to add in for many kids. :)

2 out of 3 of my boys have ADHD. But one of them struggles so much publicly. We had a school book fair last night. We did the basic activity-scavenger hunt. But it was too overwhelming to begin with. Unfortunately we pushed him but thankfully not too far that we had ill effects later. I hope to use the energy chart with my boys today.

Thank you for your insights. They are such a blessing to me!
